Got my first results in with the Savage 12BVSS-S. I fired 5 rounds from a clean barrel.Low velocity  was 2,822 fps ,High velocity was 2865 fps with the 75 gr VMAX behind 23.5 grains of VARGET from the 26" barrel.Conditions are cold, about 38 degrees light wind and cloudy.Average velocity was 2843.6 fps.The machine was placed 10 feet in front of the muzzle so I am going to say this is pretty close to muzzle velocity. So far I like the machine..

38 degrees.   Brrrrrrrrr.    It's 49 here, but still feels cold.

Glad to hear you finally got the chrono and are using it.  Sounds like a nice spread for the velocity.    GR

Hell Gene, I didn't think you Texas boys allowed weather that cold

38 degrees is a bit cool to be shooting but not bad.

Nice findings with the chrony!  75 grainers are pretty heavy for a 22 cal and might even work for whitetails   Not that you'd need to with that 308 and 300 win mag!

Velocities sound like they're cruising along right nicely!

Keep shooting them straight and I'll look for how your accuracy improves with this rifle combination in posts to come.

Will do Brad..I know a bunch of fellas that shoot deer with 223`s.I like my 308 and 300WM though..Like you said,I dont need to.My nephew killed a little 10 point this year with his Mini14.. He is the same age as 6MM so I won`t hold it against him though..

I`ll keep up on my velocities posting them. And with my sporter. So far it shoots more accurate than the big long barreled SS hussy..I`d like to see velocity and accuracy that is consistent..not close enough for me yet,but working on it..

talk at ya later..
