We are allowed to shoot females but in the regs it is suggested that you only take a male which is what i only plan on doing. We are not allowed to shoot a female if it is in a family unit.

That sounds like a reasonably reg.  Most places will only allow you to shoot a male; and the only way you can tell is size and if a bear is with a cub (usually 2 cubs).  Cubs up to 2 years old stay with mother, so some cubs are BIG.

Thanx Robert. I wrote Barnes and they did respond quickly with a download for me of load data. I notice that their load data between min and max loads are always 5 grains. Example= min 62....max 65, min  62.5....max 65.5 etc. Some people i talked to love them and some people i talked to hate them. Lack of accuracy, copper fouling etc.

You either love'm or hate'm!

 We have found the opposite, we love'm. The longer Barnes bullet seams much more accurate in equal weight, but you HAVE to have the proper twist and they do better a little OFF max speed. The fouling is less to. Start out with a very clean barrel and clean it regularly, there won't be any undo problem.Short of an armer piercing bullet you'll be hard pressed to find any thing the same weight that penetrates better. Just my two cents...
