Talked to Digger and Boo yesterday morning and they are due home around the 10th of OCT. Man seems like they have been in the sandbox forever.

Oh well they will be home soon!

I know they will be happy. Give them plenty of "space" plenty of personal time to readjust...and that means leaving them alone while they just sit in the back porch and look at the grass or the trees.

They need to acclimatize. One of the greatest things I remember when coming back from the desert was the plant life. I just wantied to sit and look at trees, grass, flowers in my parent's back yard and....just sit. I didn't want to "do" anything...I was tired of being on the "go" forever. I wanted to rest.

Let them rest. They will tell you when they need something. Let them just enjoy your presence.

Most folks cannot understand how deeply a returning vet simply wants to merely enjoy your presence near him or her.

Just sit.

Be quiet.

Enjoy the cool breeze, the smell of "life"...(not much of that in Iraq) meaning green plants. Just cause they are quiet does not mean anything is wrong. They are merely enjoying what they never realized they had until they didn't have it.

Digger says I better have his bikes together and ready to roll. He wants to go from the airport to the house to the road. He misses the open road!

Guess I better get the Night Train back together post hast. Better call Willies has the tin painted yet. Ive got his Road King ready and gassed up. Still gotta get a battery in Boo's truck too. Damn I'm gonna be busy! It's all good as long as brother Dig is coming home.

Hey, no worries! They may have known cold and crappy in the Afghan, but cold and crappy at home is GREAT!!!!

Hey, you don't even have to crank up the heat, they'll enjoy being "not hot". Though I recall, I HATED temp fluctuations badly after the desert...

Good to hear they are coming home. Please share some pics if you can and let them know there are a lot of good Americans finally able to breathe again that they're coming home with no physical parts missing.

feed 'em, love 'em, hug 'em, bud. That's all I can say.
