Nice gun. Can't say I've seen one with a vent rib and short barrel like that. I like it. DD |

Nice shotgun, Don't think you could wear one out in a lifetime. Head on over to YouTube and check out the disassembly and cleaning videos. These things break down for cleaning, really slick! Rockydog |

had my 870 since 1972....shot trap 1st 25 yrs or so and it got lots of use but didn't ever give any trouble. 21"bbl is a bit short for most hunting outside of turkey. Good for a social purpose gun tho.

You'll like the short barrel on it, I have a short barrel on my 870 12ga, it makes it fast, works great for Huns and Sharpies. Does it have Remcoke on it, or is it modified choke?

i would think it has the rem chock on it ... nice shotgun! and what makes even more spl. is you bought it yourself with your own money !!!! i started out with a 20 ga. and so did all 3 of my boys. they all have 12 ga. now but they still like to take the 20's when they are going to cover alot of ground... save your money , but keep a little off to the side and pick up a nice .22 and 1 other thing !!! never get rid of your first gun !!!! its very spl . !!!!!! |

congratulations Tail. Nice to see you post. You got a good one. I love pumps and have 6 of them (more than I need). Got a 1962 Rem 870 12 ga that has been made into a super grade trap gun. Got a 12 ga 870 express that has a poly choke and does everything well, boar, deer, turkey. Then my favorite 870 20 gauge, ultra light with vent rib, rem chokes, and a 24 inch barrel. this is my anything that flies gun, grouse, pheasants, doves and sporting clays. You have a gun that you can keep and enjoy your whole life, and pass on to the kids.

You can't go wrong with an 870. You will love it. A 20 guage might just be the perfect shotgun for upland birds and water fowl. Now, go out and try to wear that thing out. Wing master |
