On my new 22Creed I put on a Vortex Sanora 4x12x44 scope. it a very good scope, not a long distance target scope but for hunting coyotes and p dogs it seams to work great. But now that I have worked up some very geed loads one with a 75 gr HPBT and an 80 gr ELD X that shoot 300 yards great. The scope has hash marks the are very close to being accurate. Of course that's on 12 power.  It looks like I'm about 5" low at 300 on the second hash with the 80 gr eld x. That's all fine, I'm zeroed for 200 yards so its PBR is 300 just using the cross hears. its an 1.5" high at 100. Anyway on my 8mm RM I have a Leopold with dial up cap I really like to use the dial when I have time to range. I'm thinking now I want a dial cap for the creed. I checked on another Leopold Wow they went up $200 for the same scope I have on the 8.
Vortex makes custom turrets but not for there Crossfire or Sanora line. SO I found a place...
Kenton Industries. They make drop in custom elevation turrets for Many brands of scopes, Windage too. Like the Leopold's you send in your DOPE elevation temps, and such. They laser etch in the yardage marks, for the Sanora there $65. I have to pick which load I want to use, I'm guessing I'll go with the 80 eldx, I'm going to test shoot them again and get a good average speed, more then 3 shots. If they work out as well as the ones on the 8 I may get some for some of the other scopes I have. Clap

I really like the idea of custom turret knobs. $65 is better than $80 from Leupold.

Are they marked in yards? Do they have some kind of zero stop? Do they work with second focal plane scopes? Do you have to have it at full power?

I'm really interested in learning more about these turrets.

Good morning Wing. Short answer I don't know for sure. The way I understand it you can order it in yards or meters. The good thing is you don't need to have a specific scope, brand type. Like Leopold cape only work on there specific scope there lower end scopes don't have dial up caps. I didn't look to about zero stop I would guess they have some kind of stop. On first or second FP if your using the center X it make no difference on power anyway. It's the Hash marks that change. The way I read it is it's more than just a cap they send "detailed instructions" there is also a YouTube on it I'll watch.

Vortex sells custom capes but only for select scopes, not low end like the ones I can afford.
I'm going to go out and shoot 6 or 8 shots to get a real life average speed, at cold temp hunting.
I'm going to order them today if I get out to shoot. It's -6 right now I'll wait till noon maybe.

I ran out to get and got a good average speed with the Garmin. It was just above zero and very little wind out of the south was as always. I set up on the 300 yard table, just for fun I only needed to check speed not group. I did use my second hash mark I guessing is about 300 yards. The group was around 3" and about 2" high. I'm shooting 80 gr ELDM bullets. I shot 6 shots to get an average of 3171.6 FPS, STD Dev of 11.2 and spread of 27.4  I sent the "dope" Bullet type "BC", Speed (3171), temp ( 25*) I normally hunt an average (4000') altitude. They calculate the drops. I picked the speed turret, only one revolution. And they laser cut the top, "RM 22 creed 20 80 gr ELDM". It will take 2 or 3 week to ship but it's free shipping. We will see.Big smile

Thanks for the information D.

How many minutes of elevation can you get from one turn?

I'll wait until you get yours and see what you think of it then I think I'll order one for my .243.

I'm not sure I think it said. I think I'll get 7 to 800 yards I did not get the "Long" range" cap. The scope I'm using is a lower end vortex and even out to 7 or 8, I think will be a stretch.

7 to 800 yards would be more than enough for anything I would do except maybe when I go out to my son's range and shoot steel.

I'm sure a 12x is not the right scope for over 800 yards.Ouch

The inches per turn will be the same as before.  the caps are just marked, the scope itself sets the minutes/ inches per turn.

you guys are way more sophicated than me.  I sight in for 4" low at 300 yards; that means I'm about 3 high 8" high at 200 yards and 2" high at 100yards.  So I'm on minute of deer out to 300 yards.
Then I take a 3/8 diameter target patch self sticking and place that on my scope knob.  put a ink mark for 400 yards and one for 500 yards.  i'm then done.  And like last year, an antelope will appear at 160 yards.

Most of my rifles are sighted in for PBR like you do it. The only problem with it is you should confirm the POI. I sight in my 22-250 exactly to your mention specs. But instead of using a chart , like 1 3/4" high at 100 I zero AT like 239 yards to make sure it's right. Then I'll take out a liter pop bottle filled with water and shoot at it at 300 yards.Clap Problem it it's a LOT of walking. I also confirm with my 8x8 gong at 500. at 5 I cant hear the sound of a hit with a 22 of any kind but if you grab your binoculars  fast you can see it still moving. With my 8 I can hear and SEE the hit on the gong. That 55 gr vs 200 gr at the same speed.

I've never seen them stickers. That's like a custom turret you make yourself.
