Fella's;

Today, I received an e-mail from Michael Kassnar, President of KBI, inc., the importer of the Charles Daly firearms.   I had asked him to provide me with the numbers of Daly .223 LHB guns imported into this country.  Here's his reply:

"900F,

Thanks for the reminder. I apologize it took me so long to get this information for you.

We sold very few LH actions, barreled actions and completed rifles. The actual numbers (in .223) are as follows:

Superior Grade completed rifles: 130
Barreled action only: 13 (7 still in warehouse)
Action only: 195

If I can be of any further service, let me know.

Best regards,
Michael"

Wow!  Talk about personal service!  Not only that, but owning 1 of 130 would seem to enhance the value of my gun I'd think.  I'm in no rush to sell it, and am going to just think it over.  Perhaps I'll see about jumping on another of those barreled actions still in the warehouse.

what percentage of the population is left handed? wonders how much money a company looses out on by not making a left hand rifle?

Only left handed people are in their right minds!

Crazy, I think you are leaving out a whole class of people here! There are a whole lot of right handed/left EYE dominant folks out there too. Unless of course, this forum is just snobbishly for left HANDED people. OOPS I guess it does say Left Handed Sportsmen.

I wonder if they have any of the larger left handed short actions left? I'd like to build a .308 tactical for my son. He RH/ Left Eye dominant.

Rocky;

In talking with Mr. Kassnar, he indicated to me that Daly only imported the mini-Mauser action in .223 and the standard length action in .30-06 in LHB.  I'd suggest calling K.B.I. and asking them if they had any of the .30-06's left in any version, gun, barreled action or bare action.
