I love hunting squirrels; just like deer...same woods,,,same time of year. BUT no long heavy drag out.
I usually gut and skin them, cut up and fry or stew. Been thinking (dangerous). Most of the meat is on the back straps and rear legs. Should I just half skin and take the backstraps/rear legs in the woods? no mess from gutting! Just plastic zip bag.

But the rest is where the flavor is for gravy. Gotta have the gravy to go over biscuits. Kinda like only taking, the legs off frogs, you miss out on the crispy bits off the rest.
