Whaddaya think?  Trying to develop shotgunning skills in my little hunterette...I'm just starting off, and using clay pigeons rolled on the ground, crossing, at about 20 yards.  I figure it teaches her swing and lead and all that, because she's swinging on a moving target, and she can tell from the dirt flying up where she's hitting- behind, below, etc.  Of course, if the pigeon dusts, she was right on.

Had a lot of good advice on other topics, so if you have any opinions here, fling 'em at me.  If there's a better way, I'm all for it.

big stud duck: here is a little trick on how to leed your target... it works best when it is realy hot out... get some frizbee's and toss them out in front of her and give here the garden hose and see if she can figure out why you need to lead the bird....

BSD, Make sure you check eye dominance. I used to teach in the NWTF Women in the Outdoors Program. Over half of the right handed women were left eye dominant. Couldn't figure out why they couldn't hit anything and their husbands and boyfriends had given up trying to teach them. In most cases we had 'em powdering birds before the day was out. RD

All over it, Rocky.  My little 'un is a right-hander, left-eye dominant...just like her grandpa.

mrmom, she'll love that idea.  She's always wanting to be splashing in the water anyway.  I'd never heard that trick before, but you can bet we'll put it to use.
