I need some firsthand info on tarp-tents and ultra-light tipi's. I am going to need a new one by next spring. I don't think I want to spend the money that Kifaru wants for their outstanding products. Black Diamond, MSR and others make what looks to be serviceable equipment.  If any of you have used these things please let me know the good and bad points.

That MegaMid looks good. I can't remember if that's Black Diamond or MSR. It's light and has no floor like the Kifaru, but you can't have a wood stove in it.

I was looking at the Megamid. Fair price, but a stove would be nice. I may have to cough up the dough and get a Kifaru. Still looking though. Don't like to part with the green.

You need a wood stove in Aruba?

My little 9x9 RK lodge with a 5x smoke hole works just fine! Here's a photo of my personal "sherpa" at camp!(1200ft) If I ask him to do something he say's "sure-pa",then I don't see'm till he's hungry!
