OK you math heads.
I said MATH NOT METH.
The bullets I'm casting are from melted down bullets from an indoor range 50 years ago.
I'm guessing there is antimony and tin in the lead.
It must not be a lot its rather soft. It tests to about 14 Brinell Hardness with our tester. I add about 625 gr of 95% tin/5% antimony solder to 5 pounds of said lead.
They cast great nice and shinny bullets and there like 15 on the hardness test.

Here is the math part.

I think I want closer to 16. Now I got a 5 pound ingot of 30% Antimony and 70% lead.
I found a recipe that calls for 2% tin/ 6% antimony and 72% lead to come up with a hardness of 16.

SO
By using my mix only with the higher antimony lead not the solder how much in grains do I need to add assuming the original lead has enough tin in it to bring it up to 6%.
???

I took a guess of 125 grains.
I'll cast the hardener in to bullet molds of the proper weight and just add on to my lead pot.
PLEASE.
