Then brought a stainless match grade barrel in varmint contour 1:9 twist chamber in 260 Rem

Then after a looong wait i ends up as this

So after $2130 including Scope im a very happy camper just need shoot it now

Muznz;

OK, what glass is on it?   What's the general range of game you plan on using it for?  Have you started load development yet?  If so, what's working for you?

See?  There's loads of questions to be answered!  We're just scratching the surface of the subject here.  How'scome the .260 instead of the 6.5 X 55 Swede?

Inquiring minds wish to know.

Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 i hope use it on game out to 300metres.
260 over 6.5x55 was action size i wanted  short action (308 length)
Loads at the moment are 44gr of win 760 federal Magnum primer Rem Brass and 120gr corelokt bullet should give 2900fps according to the load books it also gave my gunsmith 1/2 inch group at 100yrds.
I haven't shot it yet

You will not be disappointed in  the 260.  Mine likes 37 grains of Varget behind the 129 Hornady interlock.  Had it 4 years and killed 3 WT bucks with it.  Speed is seldom my consideration in load development.

Good luck and report back on the range results, it looks great.  Nice wood, but the bolt seems bent to the wrong side (had to sneak a lefty plug).

Hey Muznz,

I built one on a A-bolt II micro hunter.  Took some photos of it but they are too big to upload.  I'll try to shrink them down and  try it again.

here's a photo.  It began life as a 308 micro hunter.  A hart match grade barrel with a 1-9 twist, a kickeze pad for extra length,  and she's ready to go.  I also put a VX III 2.5-8 x 36 with a #4 reticle for white tail smacking...

Thanks Muznz.  You are to be complimented as well.  We should compare notes as load development gets underway.

I picked up a LH A-Bolt hunter in .223 that I'm not real sure what to do with.  I could leave it as is or make a .204 out of it.  Any thoughts?

Extra-nice rifles! If I get my hands on of those new LH T-Bolts I may have to trade my Savage .260 for a Browning Micro.

Haven't Hunted since last post
But looking at changing to 100gr Ballistic Tips for awhile
Planning on 48gr of win 760 rem brass federal magnum primers and 100gr ballistic tips should give 3300fps
