For years I cleaned my barrels with powder solvent and brush.Messy and stinky at best. On recommendation I moved in the early 90's to an undersize bronze brush wrapped in 0000 steel wool graded superfine. Wrap it around the brush until tight borefit and scrub the barrel. Plasic deposits, lead and powder fouling are thus easily removed. I have done this for the last16 years in my Sauer, Sarasquetta and Beretta's. Bore dimensions to within 1/1000 have never changed as measured with a a Stan Baker bore gauge. I got the tip from Ross Seyfried I believe in an article how to remove leading out off hand gun barrels, long time ago. In my experience it is a safe procedure. |

There are those who learn from watching others, those who learn from listening and reading...........and those who need to pee against the electric fence to find out for themselves.
