In there tipped bullets there using Aluminum rather then plastic? HUMMM. There very long, the price is about Hammer range maybe a bit less. I'd get some to test but they don't make 8mm. In the back of my mind I'm thinking a 250 3000 with a 1x7 or 8 twist and one of there .257 110gr Super Bulldozer-2.DescriptionLength: 1.43″ BC (G1): .570 BC (G7): .292 Twist: 1-7″ Price: 50/BOX $53.50
Any one ever hear of them? Edited by d4570 - 05 January 2024 at 14:01 |

Your pics are first I've seen of that particular boolet. Looks pretty streamlined but spendy. I seem to remember that Winchester offered an tipped boolet at one time...called "silver tip". In 30-30/.32Spl calibers for sure and maybe in like 30-06/.308 & other calibers too. It maybe was aluminum alloy as it was "silver" colored.

At one point in my hunting, I shot a lot of silver tip 30/30, back when I was in high school.
The copper bullets are spendy. I use Hammer bullets and there like $2 a bullet.

You would need to make the 250 a long action to fit that bullet in and make sure the throating was cut enough to not engage the rifling too soon. They look cool. I still have some 257Rbts Winchester Silver-Tips. They go for big bucks nowadays...

If I ever do it, I'm thinking a '06 action and a Shaw barrel. They will cut the chamber and twist to what you want.

That would be a good bullet for a .257 Roberts.
