When Maplehill and crew where here I wanted to help in there quest for shot shells for there new endeavor. I don't have light target loads, all my stuff is Stuffed full and fast. But I gave them 100 "Hunting" loads asst, to shoot up at there own range for practice. Wonderful. All of a sudden I'm looking at my shell shelf and see a big gaping hole, lead bird shot is WAY down and only 2 months till I need them. I have special lead stuff for Crane 3" 1 1/2 oz #6 and 3" 1 1/2 oz #BB for turkey/ close coyotes, 3" 1 5/8 oz lead "F" for furred up coyotes, 1 oz duplex #5X7.5 for pheasants, some 2 1/2" 7/8 oz #8 for doves but it looks like I'm a 100 shells short for Grouse. Dang got to get busy. I was digging through a BIG box of used hulls I got from a buddy that he got from his Dad old stuff about half are paper AA hulls I don't care for paper and I don't have any tapered wads. Primers are in short supply, I have some but I have many more Fiocchi primers then all the rest. There a tad bigger than US stuff and stretch the primer pockets but I won't be reloading the hulls, there well used now.
There very old stuff little to no load info for them.
I found about 40 Remington Petters Power piston hulls. found a load for 1 1/8 oz #7.5 and 800x powder.
I found about 100 Federal plastic hulls there the Cheapest version what ever they were called. 1 1/4 oz #7.5 800x. I found some Canuk? hulls there red and them I cut them open they look Just like the Power piston hull so I'm going with that. But I found 80 "RXP" hulls Remington Petters.
The funny part now. The RXP's looked the cleanest and least fired so after loading the Power pistons and Canuk, I started on the RXP.
HUMM with no Info I tried the same load and wad, Nope would not fit, The wad would not seat. I had to use great force to seat. There is 3 different colors and they all load poorly.
I tried two of each color and stopped. I started to search the internet for info, and asper norm found some. It turns out they where crap when new, but why I could not seat my straight figure 8 clone wads is there a tapered hull.Shocked I'll take apart the shells I loaded and maybe push out the primers in the hulls I primed.Confused
I'll finish up with the Federal hulls. Nothing wrong with them I gust don't care for the looks of them.

Got lucky yeterday.  My brocan't wlak/hunt any longer, so he gave me about 10 boxes of 12 ga.  All hunting loads. 0 turkey loads of 1 7/8 oz #5.

Son got back last night.  5 and 7 year old twins GDs are killing me.  Kids and suitcases/backpacks everywhere.  I had a chance to make breakfast for all 4 of them while G'ma, and mom and dad slept in.  a ball......and all were happy.  And I didn't give them any sugar.

After a 1.5 hour night sleep and a full day at the parks, petting farm, and ice cream stops... I sleep in and son cooked breakfast for all.  Poached Eggs, sauted mushroom caps, antelope sasauge, and poached small  lemon boy yellow tomato.  I may quit making breakfast, his are better.

The kids eat constantly, a 7 year old twin GD bit into and apple and lost a tooth.  Trying to make it less painful, I said it was a very pretty tooth and maybe the American tooth fairy would bring her a dollar....her 5 year old sister piped up..."you only get 1 pound for a tooth".  crazy Brits!

still having fun playing games and tickling them,
