I've heard of that but I've never tried it. I have a metric s**t ton of squirrels around my back yard. (Long Story) I'll try it.

When I was 5 years old, my mom would let me sit by the window and call in squirrels that way. also just tap on the window with a quarter...Still do it when hunting squirrels.

I think it mimics the sound of another squirrel opening a walnut/acorn.
I'm not a squirrel but act squirrely on occasion.
