Well dang the not-so-little GD got her first antelope tag. YAY.
In fact, we all did but it's not our first rodeo.
She has taken deer out as far as 240 ish yards. But antelope are very different, no trees or anything to judge distance, or any perspective at all.
I made a target, I will put my gong behind the kill zone so we can hear the hit. We will start at 100, then 200, and out to 300 yards.

I have no doubt she will hit the zine but it will help with confidence.
Back of target.

Congratulations to your grandaughter.

That's a great idea. I think it will defanitly build her confidence. Not that I think she needs much help in that area because she's a heck of a shot.

It seems to me, hunting in the wide open spaces of Wyoming, that antelope don't get real skiddish until you get closer than about 300 yards. Then a little belly crawling can get you into about 200 yards.

My next stop is usually at camp to pick the cactus out of my belly.
I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.

Nice target.  Maybe you should have made it out of plywood and been able to reuse it.

I'm sure she will find it no problem.  she has had some good teachers.

Big smile
It's heavy cardboard It should be all right for this year. I'm not going to put my gong behind it at 100 yards, we can see the hole. I'm afraid My gun ( 8mm) and D-I-Ls ( 280 ai) will damage the gong. After 200 and beyond, it should not be a problem.
