Been collecting 1903  Colt auto pistols for the past 25 years.  love them.  Today I gave away my best specimen (new in box).  Good friend came in top of his class in gov't combat training course.  2 weeks and thousands of rounds thru the Glock 19.  I taught him years ago, and I must say he just keep getting better.....way belong my capabilities (even when I was young).  I shot head to head with him saturday (I with my vintage K-22 ) against his 9mm.....no contest; he won  His groups were amazing.  So I thought he needed a prize.

My carry piece is now a worn 1903 32 auto pocket pistol with a pair of worn thin grips, slightly loose.  He shot that one at the range with me.  When he left for DC, I gave him the new 1903.

Anyone know a reputable supplier of wooden (later version) checkered wood grips?  Mine are older model black plastic.  I also neeed a grip screw, as my carry gun has the screw threads worn thin.

thoughts?

Bear;

T'were it me, I'd make a personal call to Herret or Hogue & tell them the story.  I'll bet you'll get your grips.

Hey Bear, feel like a little friendly competition with another deserving young-at-heart muleskinner?
