 Anyone heard of these? Guy here has one ,he wants $425 for it. Stainless with a Caspeian slide,nice trigger.

 While were on the 1911 thing I been looking at one to have like a fullsize,been impressed with the Para's and the Springfields. I love my Kimber but the prices of them has gone out of reach. Any comments?

Tikka;

Springfield Armory.  Also check the Rock River guns.  Now that they're owned by Kahr, the QC is supposed to be up while keeping the price down, in order to get them established in the marketplace.

Spingfields shoot very well. Buddy bought a Marine Corps Operator Model. That thing is so friggen sweet!! If the Rock Rivers are anywhere as good as their AR/M4's they are going to be a great pistol too.

Kimber is about as good as it gets for a off the self 1911, but as stated above. Dang they are spendy!! Caurse so was the MC operator at $1100 US.

If you can find them Rock Island Armory made some real good WW2 issue reproductions for around $385-450 US That even though made in the Philipins are very well made, and shoot accuratly. Know two guys with them and love them. One is a 1911 collector, and he claims they shoot and are built as well as he original WW2 Colts! But I'm not sure they stayed in buisness.

No offense to anyone who has one (I don't), but all the Kimbers I see, are here for repair. That's one of the reasons I don't have one, the other is that I can built ACP's a lot tighter than any of the ones I have seen. Of the guys who own Kimbers, for the most part they love them. As has been pointed out though, they cost an awful lot...................Kingpin

I've had a couple Kimbers, and my son still has one.  They're OK, but there are better 1911s out there.  Kimbers come with a lot of extras that many mid-range pistols don't have.  I'm a little spoiled, I guess.  My Colts are missing some things I value, like front strap checkering.  Off the shelf they were missing even more, things that are almost indespensible - like an extended ejector.  I hate a pistol that won't pile the brass up just where I want.  Also, 1911s don't even look right without a magwell.  The magazine poking out the bottom looks wierd to me.  Anyway, if I was limited to the Kimber price range, I'd save up a little more and get a Baer.
