Howdy Gents:
What, if any, are your opinions on the .35 Remington for Florida/Georgia/Alabama whitetail hunting? Since I can get a Marlin 336 for half of what a Browning BLR costs, I'm kinda thinking of the Marlin. Thanks.

sluggo : they use the .35 in michigan . next to the 30/30 it is the most sold. its an ass kicker and more punch than the 30/30. and good in the brush. i have seen guys top a pine tree when the are done hunting for the day with a .35. the only thing i have seen some of the guys trade them in for a .35 whelen. i have a set of dies for it . i load up a few rds for a friend. and in the off season i use .357's and make him some plinkers. i would get it and not look back.

Hey Sluggo
I have a .35 Remington in a 336 Marlin used it last year on a Whitetail or two,I can't say anything bad about it,didn't have to track them a step.
Mine has a peepsight on it which is cool but this year I'm gonna try a shotgun scope on it.

Thanks guys:
Well, it looks like I'm moving to Florida this year. The guys I'm setting up a deer hunt with all use Winchester or Marlin .30-30s and said the usual range is well under 100 yards since visibility is usually only about 200 in the area they hunt. So I was thinking of the BLR but the Marlin is more in my price range right now. I just wanted the .35 Rem for something different I guess. I will respect the range of the cartridge, that's for sure.

You can also get the ammo everywhere. It is kind of like the .270, the .30-30, and the .300 Winnie. It is not quite in the availability range that the .30-06 is in, but neither is anything else!
