At long last we got TURKEYS!!!

    Well we finely did it, after five years we got TURKEYS!!!! We got up at 2:00am, drove 150 miles, crossed a beaver infested creek (in the pitch dark), only got one foot wet. We then walked 1.2 miles and gained 300’ in altitude, set down in the damp grass (snow has just melted), and waited 55 minuets for sun up! The sun came up, we called twice and the turkeys called back WOW, we would call, they would call back and forth for what seamed like days. Finally we though, the plan would come together! Well it did, two nice toms came in running right past us and to our decoy, now for the first time we had turkeys right in front of us! What a shame about my decoy, we got two toms and a nice blowup decoy, OH well I’ll get a new decoy next year! WHAT A DAY.

	I hope only the head was blown of that decoy. Congratulations, it is a great feeling to get back to the truck at 9 am with bird in hand. 2 more weeks till our season starts.
