Hey, guys -

I got my youngest son a .17 HMR for his 18th birthday; normally I get the kids a Marlin bolt action .22 on their 14th birthday, but a lot of things happened to delay that, and this kid pulled himself out of a lot of personal and academic muck, so I got this instead for him - better late than never!

Any good recommendations? The scope (for now) will be a Simmons Whitetail Classic 3-9x40.

Thanks -

Ron

Had a Savage 93, the  leupold scope was in Weaver Quad rings and a two piece Weaver bases (aka Piccatiny).

Avoid a one piece base as it interfers with single shot loading.

It's good to see you Ron.

I don't know if they make them for your gun, but if they do Tally one piece rings and bases are really good and not a bad price considering you get both in one.
