What is your favorite rifle that you own? Mine personally is my lefty Ruger m77mk2 aught six. As soon as i get a decent scope on it, then it will be an awesome, any kind of hunting gun.

Wow! Talk about a tough choice! I sure don't like to have to pick one only, but since that is the question, I'll have to say it is my Remington 700 SS Synthetic in 30-06. A tackdriver it is, and not fussy about loads. Often my favorite rifle will vary depending on game, terrain, weather, etc. Regards, Eagleye.

Favorite rifle? At your age, it might be hard to understand ( I know I wouldn't have).
Picking a favorite rifle would be like picking a favorite child. I love them all for what
they are!

I agree with TRIGGERGUARD.  Not sure if age has a bearing on it but I know that it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to hard to pick one favorite rifle from the group I've got.  They've all got their own characteristics that make 'em special.  Couldn't pick one over the other.  >>  klallen

The rifle that I currently have . . . of course.  And if any wookies are watching . . . I don't carry a gun case when hunting . . . only need one rifle . . . never needed more than one . . . and no point in using anything but a .30-06.  Well . . . maybe!

Hmm...that is a tough one...

The Winchester Model 1895 in .405 Winchester, even though the damn thing was made in Japan.

Its a tough choice ! But the winner is my modle 70 lt classic in 30,06 Its prety and It shoots 150s 165s and 180s all into moa or better, it is a bit to haul around though, and my model 7 .308 is almost as accurate and I like the leupold on it better than the nikkon on the 06....tj3006

Hey tj, if  you like the aught six more, then why dont you switch the scopes? Or is the .308 wearing a scope that is too powerful for the aught six?

Hey NH_HUNTER . . . if you want to have fun, go over to Shooters and tell them you like Weatherby . . . then compliment ANOTHER rifle.  Really excites the rabble!  No doubt, if I had the money, I would buy a Weatherby Mark V . . . only way to go.  BUT . . . what I have will do just fine.  Think the old .270 Weatherby Magnum [would you believe it was developed in 1943?] will do just fine.  Still think Tikkas are fine too . . . and SAKO for that matter.

Like these nice simple easy questions.  My favorite rifle out of all I own is my old friend the .300 Weatherby Magnum, Mark V Deluxe I won back in 1963 in a big buck derby.  I've sent it back to Weatherby twice to be reblued and it still shoots under an inch after all the rounds fired through.  This is the rifle that has taken everything from ground squirrels to brown bears and never let me down.  Lawdog

NH. Thats a reasonable question,  the answer is simple . The 06 has a 3x9 nikkon monarch, its a full sized rifle, and a full sized scope. And its also a quality scope. My 308 that wares a leopold is a compact model 7 and the leupold is a VXII 2x7.  Its a smaller scope and suits the smaller rifle a little better. I might switch the 06 to a different scope one day but if I do it will be a VXIII or somthing like a burris Black diamond.    ...tj3006

I guess that makes sense. I was just thinking, if you like the leupie the most and the aught six the most, then why not match them up and have the best of the best. I am probably going to end up with a VX-2 2-7x33 on my aught six, which is a full sized rifle, and i think they are a perfect match. I guess it depends on where you live and what your preferences are i guess.
