I think I can get in to my "BIG" dog town, but the walk and 300 foot elevation change is keeping me out.
Then there is the wind, to have a good shoot on P dogs in the winter you need calm and sunny days.
I have shot them in below zero temps.

They make a MUCH bigger "red cone" then the early gophers.
The boy is back from his FL assignment, and will be wanting to shoot something.Clap

Glad K got the fire out, so I can drive thru northern florida tomorrow at 10 am.

With snow on the ground, getting down to that PD town would be a slide...but getting back up could be a problem...take enough food for 3 months till the dry season.

I don't know if they were finished burning or not, his 30 days were up.
Maybe a remote control winch and a mile of mule tape would help get back up.Big smile

With a mile of mule tape, you could probably get an elk up that hill!!!

Can you say sticky GUMBO clay.

We have close to 2 miles, We have pulled a mule deer up and out from a very similar place.
With several "repelling" pulleys and stout fence posts we can pull around corners. We use the truck for power and walkies to communicate with the walker, and driver. we pull 100 yards ish then back up wind up some tape and pull again , till it's de hind the truck, then we use the old man deer lifty thingy.Confused

Any sunny windless day is a great day on a prairie dog town.

Snow on the ground increases the splatter factor by quite a bit.
I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.
