YUP!
Then we could all have had a 4 mile walk.
Carrying our shoties and ammo.
I hit a dozen hunks of state covered in tall grass.
Some BMA's and even a Waterfowl production area, most had some water and huge amounts of hoppers.
Food, water and cover but not a sign of a grouse ever being anyplace near.
No tracks, droppings or feathers.
I have been hearing reports that the cold spring and HOT summer took a toll on the upland birds.
That is just what I saw too. I did see one pheasant.
Three deer all does and many antelope. The bucks are setting up there sections of land waiting for the flocks of does to trip by. A few of the bucks where very nice and looked to be in great shape. This time of year there very stupid like they have never seen a truck stop and glass them, they will lose that soon...

D,
Were you anywhere near the Sun River Game Range?  I haven't hunted it for sharptail for over 40 years.
Trigger Control is knowing when not to pull it.

Grouse will be in next month...hens strutting around my driveway looking for a drummer boy. Pulled up the rest of the drive and a big doe and two yearling doe where staring me down eating all the mushrooms. Feel free to swing on by and I may even tie a fuzzy up for you in November.
...oh yeah! thats gonna hurt!

Novembers are full of coyotes and damage deer hunts. I hope to have the "Black Marshmallow" taken care of next week , NOT!
But thanks.
