Even though I'm out of antelope or elk ribs Pork is good too.
I don't have or want a smoker but my 7 burner Propane grill works great for this. I take a rack of Baby back ribs dump a lot of GOOD EVOO and grind black pepper and course salt. Put it in a shallow pan uncovered. I pre heat the BBQ to about 800* then turn all but one burner off, I leave one on low on one side. That will maintain at 250/300* I cook for 3 hours with the last 30 minutes I work the magic. I take 1/2 Baby ray regular sauce and 1/2 homemade Chokecherry jelly with a big spoon of bacon grease, Wisk it together and swab it on the meat about every 10 minutes... Let it carnalize and get very dark brown. Take it out and let it rest for a few minutes, cut along the bone and serve with more BBQ sauce and home made French bread. You can eat it with potato's , rice or what ever. We don't muddy the waters with anything healthy just meat sauce and bread. you need two or three napkins, we have milk but beer would be good to. ![]() Edited by d4570 - 13 August 2021 at 18:19 |

I made so much last year I'm letting the birds eat all the chokecherry's this year.
If you come up I'll give you a pint. This fall it looks like home grown grapes...

If I'm in the area I'll take you up on that offer.
My neighbor has grape vines on the fence between our back yards. I've gotten a few grapes over the years but most years I'm not fast enough to beat the birds to them once they get ripe. Wing master

That looks good too Bear.
I remember going up to Canada several years ago. The big thing up there is Saskatoon berry jelly. It was good stuff. Wing master

At one time I could eat like that. When I got to my mid 40's it caught up with me. I gained about 25 pounds before I realized it.
