There has always been conflicting research on whether or not deer can see color.  Too often, scientists refer to their ability to see movement, to see well at low-light conditions, etc.  Anyone heard any good arguments to verify whether or not deer can see color?

to my knowledge, they see everything in brayscale, but are very sensitive to the lighter end of that spectrum. as you said, they also spot motion very well.

i remember one guy mentioning that he breaks up his blaze orange with v-shaped patterns of grey, black and white paint. he swears by it, and i can see the advantage it would have in breaking up the glaring orange, which the deer must see like a huge white flag.
