Here is a book from my great uncle who was head of Dental surgery at Base Hospital 46 in France WW1. The oiler was issued to each squad for their 1911's. The grips I cut.

Oddly enough, there was a Major Koch there who is the great uncle of one of my best friends. Small world.

Nice pic, nice oiler, great grips, and good story. What kind of grips are those?......................................Kingpin

There are times when a normal man must, spit in his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

These are Sambar stag. It is the prettiest of the stag and has the thickest solid area. They are trying to replace it with red stag as Sambar is very hard to come by now. It was originally found in quantity in India but when the antlers were dropped, it was in deep grass. In order to be easily found, the locals burnt the grass to reveal the antlers. The Indian government did not want this so they made the exportation of the antlers illegal. This shut down the supply dramatically. The Sambar now mainly comes from other countries, but the supply is very limited and the cost has increased.

Peter, have you tried contacting the zoos that have sambar? Shed antlers are still shed antlers. Usless to anyone that doesn't have a USE for them.
