A week or so ago I went from my first lb. of the powder to a second.  Saw some real strange things as far as where my bullet was dropping as opposed to where it should have been by the drop chart.  When I got back home, ran the load over the chrony and found that the velocity had dropped by as amuch as 230 fps.  I have experienced variations from lot to lot before, but never anything this drastic.  Maybe with Retumbo being a new powder and all they're still trying to work out some kinks.  I don't know.  Anyone else working with the stuff?  >>  klallen

i've been trying to get a good feel for the stuff. haven't been working w/ it, but have been reading to the chatter about it. one of the things i've read is that there were enough problems w/ the stuff that it was recalled for a bit. i still can't get ahold of it here - s.d. is just too small of a fish for most businesses to get concerned w/ first.

i have read of one user who claims that it is his 'go-to' powder for several of his magnums - don't know that he's worked w/ more than 1 lot, though...

Hunting is not a matter of life or death; it is much more important than that.

I got a frend who I think is using Rutumbo in his stw. He might be on vacation but I,ll see what I can find out. Buy the way he has a nice rifle, how does this sound, a Weatherby ultra light with a Match grade pac-nor 26 inch fluted stainles  teflon coated barrel with muzzle break and Leupold VXIII 4.5x14. Id, prefer an acumark with out the break But it was a 300 weatherby and it was a hard kicking sun of a bitch. I think I would decline the opertunity to fire a 300 weatherby in a Ultra light.

This is the powder I want to use in the Warbird for a new load using those 200 gr. Nosler AccuBonds, as well.  I guess for the time being, I'll just have to keep close watch, as I switch from lb. to lb., lot to lot.  Hopefully we'll find some stability with it sooner, than later.?.?.?.?.?  Might have to head to the 8# kegs for consistency, too.  We'll see.  >>  klallen
