I mean the 45LC/454 Casull SA style for general quality. I am thinking about one.

my .454's a super redhawk.

i like the cartridge alot.  when i decided to get into it, it proved to be quite a step up from the .44remmag i had.  being the first "big" revolver cartridge i got, it'll always be a personal favorite.

i load a 395 gr. cast performance lbt solid in it at around 1400 fps.  it's a thumper of a round.

If you want a single action, the only choice that makes sense to me is to get one of the Freedom Arms guns.  They are not cheap in any sense of the word, but you will never be disappointed in the quality.  And, you can load the thing to the point that hell won't have it.

Those Freedom Arms revolvers are absolutely beautiful, and remarkably well made firearms. I know a shop that has a .454 4 3/4" barreled one. They sure aren't cheap though! I know a guy who has one in .500 Wyoming Express, and man, that thing barks when he touches it off! You should see the hole that thing puts in a propane tank (empty of course)!

My 454casull is a TC Encore 15 inch barreled pistol full power 454casull isn't a comfortable load so I  load down & use 45colt in it that's been loaded to  454casull starting loads. You really need to buy some Magtech 260gr Jacketed Flat Point ammo and touch it off in a handgun to me it was worse than Win Partition Gold & it has more recoil than Hornaday SW460MAG ammo. Contender & Encore handguns are exempt from the drop test.Originally calif wanted the frame with each  changeable caliber pistol barrel drop tested so TC stopped selling in Calif until Republican CA State Senator Dutton got legislation passed exempting the test but each frame has to be sold with a handgun barrel attached to be legal.
