On the deal with the Mod 17, I also got a 629 6" .44 Mag. I traded my Mod 29 a few months back. If you recall, there was a disturbance in the "force." I am now back to being a full fledged Imperial Star Trooper again. All is right with the force............................Kingpin

this requires pictures to get a full evaluation...

This 629 looks like it came out of a box new. If I knew how to post pics or even get them into my computer, I would post them..................Kingpin

Now all you need is a good trigger job.  Let me know if you need a reference for a good pistolsmith.

Nice KP, but I would rather have the 41Mag. Nothing against the 44. Just a preferance thing. But I have shot my friend Bretts 629 custom shop. And man is that a hell of a pistol! Keep thinking I might get my hands on it some day as he has gone nuts over SSA Colts and has several 1s, 2s, and 3s. Maybe some day he will part with the old 629.

I just love shooting it even if it is a 44

< =text/>_popupControl(); I got my first model 29 in 1976. 8 3/8" blue with recessed chambers. It shoots like a house on fire.

I bought a custom shop S&W 629 6" from my brother. The trigger breaks like glass and it is very accurate. But it is still ugly compaired to my 29.

I just got my first Glock, a model 17. I think the disturbance in the Force caused it. I looks like trash, but boy does it shoot well. I am created Shiva on the poppers.

I still prefer revolvers.

Mad, years ago I had a Mod 57 .41 Mag. I thoughtlessly traded it away, presentation case and all. It is to be replaced, rest assured. It was a real shooter. Why I got rid of it I will never know..........................Kingpin
