Evening Fellas >> Had a roll of film developed today that had been in use since early varmint season this year. Thought I'd throw up some pic's.
This one is were we do out 1000+ yd. varminting. Our target is around the large tree to the front, and above the hood of the truck. There are rock piles that have been built over time around that tree that the chucks have learned to call home. Close targets can be had at 990 yds. in front of the tree to 1100 yds. behind. That's my long time hunting partner (my brother ;o) ) with his .50 BMG on the bench :

This is how things look as you lean over the bench on the truck. Again, chucks are running around the rock piles located around the tree in the center of the pic :

In the same general area, we do have areas mapped out where 1500 and 2000 yd. shots on chuck can be had if the desire takes up in that direction. The rims farther back and to the right are another hot spot for chucks and really allow large areas of room between rifle and target. Right now I'm just concentrating on 1000, but who knows what the future and a custom rig will offer.
Changing seasons a bit, this is a pic of the coyote I got a couple days ago. We saw seven total that day. We were hunting deer so we let six run and I only shot this one after we had decided that our deer hunting was over for the morning. It was ranges with Leica at 392 yds. and shot with the 7.82 Warbird (200 gr. AccuBond). Needless to say, the combo is to much for coyote. The clean side is towards the camera for tasteful reasons. Opposite side was quite a mess. Anyway, it was a great "on game" test for the Warbird and the trajectory chart generated for a new load. From range work, I knew the drop was dead on at 300 yds.; this showed it was equally correct at 400 yds. as well :

Just waiting for the 150 class Mulie (we saw him tonight, incenently) to make the same mistake this coyote did. Rutt's a moving in so I'm hopeful for some exciting times to come in the next week or so. Chat with ya later. >> klallen
