Anyone use milk jugs to test how there bullets penitrate and perform?
I watched a Mythbusters once, they were shooting water in a pool to see how far they penetrated.
It turned out slow BP all lead bullets did a better job then super fast or giant 50 cals.
Three feet was about it so I did 8 jugs that 4 feet.
I have over 100 jugs to test with, here is the target. Can't wait for nice weather to see how our bullets do.

got 6 jugs in garage to test soon with 9.3x62 hollow points.  bullets need to track straight or no recovery.

most of  Mythbuster's  stuff is poorly designed and flawed enough, that while interesting, proves nothing!  no science, just TV myths repeated.

but jugs are good if you recover bullet.

Downside to most penetration tests is bullet deflection. It's an issue even with ballistic gel. Bullets yaw wildly after first contact and recovery is a 50/50 gamble.
...oh yeah! thats gonna hurt!

I like to use h2o jugs to catch my handgun bullets to see how they expand.  Looking forward to your testing.    k
