.22 shotshell for small game

anyone use this? how are the results?

i've used it a little for plinking around, but not for gophers etc.

one thing i have noticed is that the shells do not eject well out of my marlin bolt action, but this may be due to the nature of the brass, which is the nickel-plated (?) stuff.

Only shot them a few times in pistols.  I know that the Ruger semi-autos or any other for that matter (semi-auto rifle or pistol) don't seem to cycle them properly.  They all become single shots, essentially - requiring manually cycling the bolt.

Only thing I've shot is the occassional snake or varmint in camp at near point blank range and it worked fine.

I've used them for mice inside buildings, range was about 15 foot at best (use safety glasses).  Shot a few snakes and they were not quick killers at that 15-20 foot range.  All my use was in my K-22 smith revolver.   The ones I used were brass crimped ends, and ejected well from my revolver; but would cause tough ejection in any auto.

The 38/357 shot I've used Yellow tiped Speers I think worked much better on snakes.

I found a report on line several yrs ago about special ops 45acp cartridges used in Nam as shotshells against 2 & 4 legged game and some single ball loads in 45acp.Am Rifleman had an article on the method to make effective 45acp shotshells but I threw 40 yrs worth of Am Rifleman mags in the trash.
