OK not sure what I need them for but they should put down a turkey or crane nicely.
I will start with some Rio 2.75 primed hulls. MG42 wads. 300 gr #5 lead topped with 300 gr lead bb an over shot card 6 point crimp tapered and a dab of sealer on the top. I know Blue dot or even steel powder would be the best powder, but I have Longshot, red dot, 800x, green dot, clays and universal too. I like about 1300 fps, what would you pick. I have the most green, clays and universal.

I tried loading some up today.
Not as easy as I hoped. I settled on longshot. WOW it must be very dense, the flakes are tiny and silver looking. It's little hard to measure. I have been weighing each charge. I wanted to go with 300/300 gr of shot. BUT I'm running to a volume issue. I had to drop down to 280 gr #5s and what ever 3 BB lead is so it is closer to 1 1/4 oz. Now most the time I get a good crimp. I'm using used hulls so a few don't crimp as good as others. I hope to shoot some on Friday.

I reloaded shotshells for about 50 years, stopped 15 years ago as then shells were cheap and I didn't shoot comp trap any longer.
I tried duplex loads and found they gave me poor patterns. Freeze my a$$ off in a late season duck blind then have a golden eye fly thru the hole in the pattern was not my style. good luck let us know how it works for you.

Maybe you had the wrong choke?
ALL my water foul loads are duplex. Most my uplands are 5x7s My coyote loads are straight #tt lead Crane are all #6 I have used 1.5 oz #8 for doves, they did not help I still could not hit them. I'm thinking these for turkey 5xbb 1 3/8 oz. Actually on the bag of shot it says there 5.5 nickel plated so not quite #5s

for doves I use #8 GAME LOADS remington. bang dead. 20 ga 2 2/3 with 7/8 oz.
gun is usually my ultra light rem 870. a killer gun, english stock, I use mod choke uibe

Range report.
I went out today and fought the MUD and set the pattern board at 40 yards. I put a 40x40 paper with a 30" circle. I was shooting my Stoeger with a extra full (.700) extended choke. I shot 3 in raped succession of each load, to make sure there is no feed issues, at a poor unexpecting clump of sagebrush. I had two different loads one with a 4 pedal wad and one with a 2 pedal wads. other wise the same.1 3/8 oz, 320 gr lead nickel plated #5 and 33, 258ish gr lead BB, 31.5 gr long shot. They all fed great the recoil was heave but not as bad as some of my goose loads. I honestly think ever pellet hit in side the 30". I counted the BBs and they all hit and most of them where in side 20". The 5s showed no hits out side the 30. The two pedal load did seam to concentrate the BBs a little bit better I think. My board is a 1/4" plywood and be hind that an inch is a 1/2" CDX and 4 layers of carboard. The 5s seamed to be mostly imbedded in the first board but most of the BBs came out the back of the other target board.  Not sure what I will use them on, may be a bit to much for pheasants, but maybe pass shooting turkey or crane, or jumping sage hen or coyotes? Not sur yet.
