I was at sportsman wharehouse the other day,

And i looked at a bunch of scopes. Leupold Burris and the above mentioned Ziess. All were very nice, But I was truly impressed with the ziess. I was thinking of Buying a 3X9 By 40, and mounting it on my .338 win. And freeing up the Var x 3- 2.5 X 10 to mount on my 25,06.  But Another strong candidate is To buy another VX3 2.5 X 8 for the .338, or A very impressive Burris 3x12 by 44 Signiture select to put on the 25,06. Any body have a Ziess Conquest ? ...tj3006

yeah, one. i got it because i didn't have any, because the 3-9x40 was same price as leupold, and because it was made in america.

good scope, i really, really like the zeiss x-hairs. possibly the most perfect x-hairs for hunting.

however, i prefer leupolds to it. leupolds have more eye relief, weigh less, and better resolution (sharper image). the zeiss is brighter, better x-hairs, and adjustments are better.

leupold, zeiss... neither is a bad choice. i just prefer the leupold.

Hunting is not a matter of life or death; it is much more important than that.

I have  the  4.5-14 x 44. Comared with  my Leopold 3.5x10x50, there is not much difference, optically (other than the magnification).
I actually like the leopld crosshairs better. They look like they are made out of copper and the shine a little when it is REALLY dark. I can't see the zeiss crosshairs very well when it gats dark.
