I have every confidence you will like the VXII.  I was hoping to try mine at therange this weekend but may not get the chance. I have 2 VXIII s and I am not sure how much better they are m then the new VXIIs. Make sure you get the new version with the click adjustments, I put a post on comparing my 2x7 leupold to my 2x7 bushnell Elite 3200. So far the leupold is the winner. Think i.ll try and boresight it in my basment .       ...tj3006

Love the one you with or get rid of it. Spot's got the idea, you shouldn't have to think about it and it leaves you with a smile.

My favorite rifle is the one I happen to be shooting at the time.

Argue all you want but there is room for them all if you are lucky enough to live here in the USof A.

I guess you all are making good points. I only have 3 rifles, and only one is high powered. I may get a Ruger #3 Carbine in .45-70 added to my gun rack this year, but that is yet to be ________ ummm what would be a good word for there?

I must agree that it is not worth having a rifle that isn't your favorite, they are all just favorites for different reasons, not all are just for fun you know.

I supose I could break a few down, hmmmmmm........

fun - Romanian M69 .22
enjoyment - Savage .223
amusement - Remington 1100
pleasure - Marlin 336 30/30
delight - Rem 550 .22
gratification - Good old Daisy

Well that's most of them anyway. I guess any way you look at it, they are all kind of fun!

NH

Why a Ruger #3? I've got a #3 in 30-40 krag. I liked the round and thought I liked the gun until I got a Browning Hi Wall. Now I have crazy thoughts about buying a gun to rebarrel it into 30-40 (don't wish to part with the one I have). There are many Browning HiWalls around in 45-70. No question the Browning will cost some more but it is also a great deal more gun. Think about looking at a Browning as long as you're still looking.
