I wanted to load accouple of 100 more steel shot shells for water foul season BUT.
The Component Troll hit me in the balls...
The hulls I wanted and am currently loading are "OUT OF STOCK" I called and asked if and when they may be available. THEY said We don't expect to see any hulls for a month or two, HUMM. That sucks.
Rio blue, 22mm brass 3" 12 gauge
they crimp supper and the load I'm using fits like a foot in a Kenetrek boot, PERFICT.

D;

I've never reloaded shotshells and don't expect to ever have to do it either. So, simple curiosity prompts me to ask - do the hulls make that much difference? Are the shotgun hulls as critical to performance as the brass is to rifle loads?

Kinda.
Some hold a crimp better, some are tapered and need special wads. ALL loads are contingent to what type hull and primer you use, some hulls have different size primers. Never are you to substitute components. Bla Bla you know it goes on and on. A big part of the truth be known ,I like to use New hulls each time so I'd prefer " cheep"

D,

Have you tried Ballistic Products? I have had good luck with them.

http://www.ballisticproducts.com/

I have also bought hulls from these guys, but I have only bought once fired hulls.

Yeah mostly just pheasant and target loads, but I started loading shotgun shells before I loaded rifle ammo.

I have had a real interest in some of your loads. I never have loaded duplex loads.
