Redford--antigun liberal.  Owns millions of acres in Montana and Idaho; bet he and friends shoot there.  Maybe an anti-gun for the masses type1     But you have to love Jerimiah Johnson.

Henry Fonda, yep he begat Janie and druggie Peter.  He never excepted Janes anti-American BS. But a conservative democrat, who served in combat with the Navy in the Pacific.

the conservative, American culture movies he made probably did a lot for creating conservative honest Americans.....such as The Ox-Bow IncidentMister Roberts, and 12 Angry Men..

I seem to remember that IBD. It seems pretty hypicritical for him to be in movies carrying a gun when he's anti gun.

I'm Sure Henry was in some good movies, but I never could get past the fact that he was Hanoi Janes dad. I never could like him because of that.

John Wayne was one of my favorites. I don't think he made a bad movie.

Another one I didn't think of before but was a good one was The Sting. Paul Newman was a good one too.

Thinking about Paul Newman and Robert Redford, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid was pretty good too. I don't think it was based totally on facts but for what I think of as a drama I liked it.

True Grit is great.  I tried to do just one John Wayne; I could have just said all JW movies.  True Grit, Roster C, The quiet Man, the Cowboys (he got killed),  the Green Beret, In Harms way,  the list never stops.  But it was tough to pick, and I thought the Shootest was his best.

Bogart was also tough, two snuck in on my list.
