We finally did it.
Didn't work as well as we hoped, but fun and learned a lot.
Dropped the boat at the ramp. took the trailer truck to the next ramp on the river. It was still zero dark 30.
got back to the boat and shoved off JUST at shooting time. The plan was to run a mile and call, then repeat all the way to the pick up. What we learned , when there is 7 other boat trailers at both ramps there is probably going to be duck hunters 'bout every mile...
Nuts, tuff calling when there is banging all day long. We did how ever stop and put out the 12 floater goose decoys and the one spinner duck we had.
MALARDS LOVE goose decoys and a spinner. Set there for two hours and filler our 7 duck limits . TWAS fun.
They would come in hot with the wind and many would touch the water before we could get on them.
One group of geese tried for 20 minutes to land but there was a flock of eagles that kept them off the water and the wind just was not right, Probably could have shot a few but we opted to hold off and see if we could get them to land , NOPE. No coyotes !!!!

Sounds like it turned out good after all. It's always good to have a backup plan.

I took your advice and went out calling on Saturday. I was going to go friday, but it was windy as heck. My backup plan was to go Saturday.

I didn't see any Coyotes, but did have a great time and saw about 60 or 70 deer. All except two were does, but I was thinking "I hope all of you are pregnant" I was in the area we hunt deer.

Next time, I will have a better backup plan.

I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.

Very deceiving.
Prop eater water, you run this stretch of water you better have a spare prop and shear pin. Mostly a foot or two deep with scattered boulders, and submerged islands.
We where going down stream the boat rides a LOT higher mostly drifting. If you had to power back up stream you better have a jet and run her as fast as you can.
AND hope.
