sometimes in past we used business cards for temp shim to test.....used to use Micro-Bed from Brownells for bedding stocks...now it seems to have gone from their catalog....

I've never used micro bed but I have used Brownells Acra-Glass. It works good and comes in a gel formula. I have had good results with it.

The triggers on the S-2 are really nice for a factory trigger.

Thought I'd give ya'll an update on this crazy rifle.  It's shooting really well now. Just because I like them more I took the Weaver base's off and put on Leopold's I really don't think that was the problem though. I opened up the barrel channel and took off the pressure ,still not glassed just wanted to see if that helped. Put the barreled action back in the stock ,torqued down the screws and now it's shooting very well , grouping way better. Come warmer weather will get out and find a load it likes . Thanks for all the input guy's .

It's good to hear it is shooting better. Every time I have floated the barrel on a rifle it has helped accuracy.

Glad it worked out. I have one of the new Vanguards S2 in 240Wby and it is a laser right out of the box.
