I don't think that a cheap syn stocked savage looks any worse than a cheap stocked rem, ruger or win or......I like the looks of the barrel nut personally, looks stronger in a way.

Stupid people are like a slinky, they don't serve much purpose in the world but they sure are fun to watch tumble down the stairs!

Now, i think a wood stocked savage is the worst looking hunting rifle on the face of the planet. I can't help it. Turning the 2x4 they use to make the stock with into something beautiful is like trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. It just ain't gonna happen.

nh: what are you talking about???? mine is a nice looking stock. dark bown and tan wood. all in little strips. i havew never seen a 2x4 look like that.. all that oil they put on them ruger stocks is a wounder the e.p.a dosnt keep them out of the woods from fear of an oil spill. an for the ruger comp. stocks are they to cheap to use more milk jugs when they make them??? they cant even fill out the stock . they only fill the mold half way.

Same with my low priced "Package" Model 10.  If I decide to "dress it up" I will add a rosewood foregrip and grip cap with white line spacers.  Lawdog

I agree with you about the new comp stocks. I liked the old ones. Guess Ruger decided that they were a bit too "tactical" looking.

Come now MRM, laminated stocks are the cheap and ugly way out of problems
