Got to try her out today.
Not to impressed so far. However not totaly
disappointed either.
I had 3 loads. The worst by far was the 95 grain
partition over IMR7828. I shot four 3 shot groups.
They were so bad i did not even measure. None better
than 2 inches.
Next in line was a 85 grain tsx over 42 grains of h
4350. I had a these on hand from a rifle i no longer
own. I used a few to get her on paper. Then the same 4
three shot 100 yards. The 1st group was 2.05, but the
other 3 a very consistent 1.22 1.22 and 1.24.
I could live with that from an 06, or 338 win mag,
but a .243 has to be better.
The last load i only had 9 of , a 100 grain sierra
boat tail over 38.5 grains of H-414.
This load was weird. The 1st three shots were 2.05
second came down to 1.60, an the 3rd was very nice at
.73.
I think i will bump that one up a bit and tryi it
again. And maybe try the Sierra with h 4350 too.
A few impressions on the rifle itself.
Really kind of comfortable to shoot and the trigger is
excellent.
I can not say much for the Redfield Revolution
scope. It tracks ok, but i did not like the optics.
I took another rifle along , and the 150.00 dollar
Nikkon pro staff 2x7 was much much better, and the
adjustments had firmer clicks. I might need to get
another of the little Nikkons.

You might want to check the rifling. Seems you are shooting long/heavy bullets. Some 243/6mm are rifled for lighter varmint bullets.

My 243 like Varget and 4064IMR.

We use Varget too
an 85 speer for deer.
And a 75 for P dogs.
Cheep Savage and a Redfield scope.
Can we say LAZER beam ?

Tj3006;

Just break down & get a box of the Speer 90 grain spitzers.
If they don't work, I'll take the remainder off your hands.

I bought my .243 for a coyote gun. Wanted to shoot light fast bullets.
Nothing 55-90 works. Have to say I haven't tried 95's. I ended up with
100gr Sierras. Same issue with powders. Nothing I had on the shelf
worked well. Ended up with 4350. It's not that I have anything bad to
say about it other than I don't use it for any other cal. I've been trying to
slim down the number of powders on hand and this whole project was a
step in the wrong direction for me. It worked well on a antelope at over
300 yards but it's just not the coyote gun I'd hoped it to be. If it were a
plain old mod 700 Rem I'd have no problem rebarreling to 244/6mm but
can't quite do it to a pre-64 model 70.

42gr 4350 2930 fps

Endeavor to persevere.

Bummer DD!
I have never seen a 243 that we could not make a lazar beam out of with the right Bullet load combo.
Most will kill coyotes like no tomorrow.
However I have never found a fur friendly bullet.
The 243 I have been using is my daughters. She bought it when she was younger and got a very cheep savage / scope combo. new I was not impressed but we where trying to use the "Usual " 100 gr deer bullet. A respectable 2" group.
We finally zeroed in on a 85gr speer and Varget for deer and a 75 gr speer and Varget P dogs and coyotes. NOW If we do our part it will shoot well with in an inch.

The 6mm I have now is a 80 gr Barnes shooting SOB. 8208 Barnes tts 3800 fps will make a mess out of a quarter at 100. And at 4200 fps a 55 gr Nosler ballistic tip with superformance it will do the same at 200.
Again neither is fur friendly.

I've been buying at Graf's.   good prices and a flat fee to ship. Just bought 4 boxes of 17HMR, and bullets in .41, 224, 6.5 (600 rounds) included some 45 gr GMX. $6.95 postage.

I did some more shooting today.
This time with the Sierra 100 grain BT ans the 95
grain partition.
It was a little better but still not good enough.
I think i will up the charge weight and see if it helps.
I bought some 90 grain Ballistic tips to try too.
