Seems there is no market for beautiful walnut, nor any real wood.

Certainly all the plastic stock cost mush less, but they all little to the beauty of a rifle or shotgun.  The new 'chassis stocks define ugly for me.

So while I have sort of frozen purchases of more guns......might need a Walnut gun soon to keep up my spirits.

 Walnuts give me cankers.

I like nice wood but preferer composite, now that I can get it.

I'm with you Bear. I have a couple of rifles with composit stocks but I prefer walnut. I even like the white outline grip caps and butt plates that were popular in the 60's.

It seems like about the only rifles that are offered in walnut stocks are the high end guns.

I miss the old days.

There is a reason plastic stocks are on the low end rifles and shotguns, cheap to make, no finishing required.    And they really increase recoil.

I like the laminates, but nothing is like a walnut stock, natural, nice grain.
