On another thread, Maple got me thinking.
what rifle do you like to take to the range to just "poking holes in paper"?

Not necessary to small group target or to tune a hunting rifle....just what you enjoy the best.

I HATE PUNCHING PAPER!!!!
The ONLY time I do it is to proof or test or zero.
Cans, Clay pidgins, or something but not paper.
We can normally find live targets running around to "Just" shoot any particular fire arm.
I do need to farther test the 8, on my scope there is the X and then 4 hash marks, I want to know where they shoot.
The X I have set for 238 yards. The next hash sit s just under 400 yards the second is 4" low at 500 yards. I have yet to test where the next two are. That is using the 200 gr Barnes at 3200 fps. I'll have to do it all over for the 220 Sierra at 3100.

Shot gun patterning is even worse. May as well dig my eyeballs out with a spoon...Ouch

Sort of always take my CZ 452FS along when shooting one of my other rifles.  I 'feels' good and shoots lights out.  only a 22 LR but a nice tight fitting bolt rifle.

I like to shoot all of them...well except for the big mags. The 22 CF are nice to shoot, I have got my fill of getting my fillings knocked out. I only shoot the big guys when I have to, working loads up takes longer than say my 257 Robts or 243!

I always take my carry gun. I run a magazine of my carry ammo through it. That way I always have relativly fresh ammo and don't worry about bullet set back from loading and unloading it at night.

Sometimes I take my AR. It's sorta fun to dump a couple magazines through it.

For just plain fun shooting at my own range I really enjoy shooting my lever .22 rifles. Mostly I shoot steel for informal plinking with them. Like WM tho I do enjoy dumping mags of ammo from my AR's at times. Again mostly at steel. Smile
