I suspect at least one dude here would approve this chart of best cartridge for given game.

I can't get the list to open bear.
Rifle as in brand, type, or caliber?
That's kinda like asking what vehicle is best for every thing you do in your life, Just can't answer it in 10 or 20 vehicles.

Sorry, can't get to work.  But it was a chart with a pic of best carrtridge for hunting different game.

Column list 12 different game from gophers to griz, and show their selection of the best cartridge.

Nothin of interest in that  !
But is showed just one cartridge for all citters..............................45-70.   that was the joke.

People were smarter 200 years ago.   Back then you would have never seen a Biden or a Harris get a nomination for POTUS.  probably not even a trumpie back then.   smart folks.

The 45-70 would be the number one choice, but after CB-900f talked me into the 6.5X55 I think it would be another good choice, And it's over 100 years old too.

Routinely I shoot 7x57, 8x57, 30-30, 22 long rifle  all well over 100 years old.  As the years go bye, seems old is good.

Maybe I should have said old guns are good.

I should have taken better care of myself. I've been feeling it for a few years.
