Oil only unless it’s a brand new lacquer stock, and then oil after a couple years with them as well. Lacquer stocks are slick enough, little Murphy’s or Orange Glo to clean and then dry wipe finish after. Some guys will paraffin the barrel Channel too seal but I don’t go that far.
...oh yeah! thats gonna hurt!

I've never tried Pledge but I bet it would make it look good.

That reminds me of my buddies mom when I was growing up.

They got a new hardwood floor. His mom thought Pledge would shine it up and make it look good. She was right. It looked great.

The problem was, it also made it slick. Like really slick. Like you could barely stand up on it slick.

I'll never forget going to their house after school one night and his dad sitting in his chair in the living room. I wondered why he was smiling. I soon found out.

My buddy stepped off of the rug that was by the door and it seemed like it took him 5 minutes to fall down. He skated around the kitchen and part way into the living room before he finally landed flat on his back.

Does Pledge make a rifle stock slick? I'm thinking with cotton gloves on it could make it hard to hang onto.

I like a quick spray and wipe with a paper towel.
