My boat seat bracket came off from the inside of the boat. I'm not sure if it was spot welded in place when the boat was made so i was wondering if some JB Weld would secure it again or some other kind of epoxy unless someone has a better idea. I'm not into drilling holes and riveting it so i'd rather secure it with a glue or something else.

If you can sue McDonalds for getting you fat then why can't you sue the alcohol companies for all the ugly people you ended up sleeping with?

glue/epoxy will never hold it. I thought you were a welder? spot it or use some machine screws with wing nut to make it removable. |

I made a set of clamp style braskets for my little boat. Use all thread rod and some threaded 3 inch thru bolts. all 1/4 inch.
The seats now clamp on to the aluminum boat seat, and can be put on or taken off with a socket drive in a few seconds. An they don't moce when you lean back on the boat seatsback |

WOW. I was thinking a portable seat that clamped on. That is the main seat; more important it is a structural cross member adding strength to your boat. I'd pitch the whole thing and get a good treated 2x10. Cut to fit the width, with a slight tapered side to fit the interior of the hull. I'd mount it with some 90 degree aluminum angle (2x2x10' at least. I would bolt it thru the side and seal and adhesive it with a marine silicone caulk. Using just an adhesive is not going to be satisfactory as the hull will just act as a wedge to break the adhesion. |
