Castle Hunt

Well, I had planned to be in England for 2 weeks over the holiday.  Got all ticketed and booked a great Castle Pheasant hunt, 300 driven birds.    BUT, knee blew out and sciatica cane back at the same time.  Can’t walk, sit, or stand.  Two weeks on back, and lots of heavy drugs.  Just now able to stand for short periods.  Wife daughter & friend went to England;  I spent the holidays alone.  With drugs, it has been 14 days without martini!

Son did the prepaid hunt, had a ball.  He sent pics, and I’ll try to post.  Can post this as somewhat less pain today.  Wife gets back soon; doctors again tomorrow.  Holidays in the ER isn’t my idea of fun.

To long now typing standing up.  Will return.

Well knees suck! Had surgery on both, still got a screw in the right one. Backs are a different level of pain as it's all nerve bundle. Both at the same time....I don't even want to think about that one.

Sorry to hear you missed out on the holidays, trip , and the hunt. Health matters more though so thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
...oh yeah! thats gonna hurt!

Briefly, I’ve had sciatica for years, always able to deal with it and let it pass on it’s unmerry way.  Also aging has given me a inflamed bursa (leg/pelvis joint) for the past 5 years.  Both are usually painful, but I have good teeth and bit on the bullet.

5 days before xmas, Cleaning out deer gear, I lost balance going don steps carrying a heavy load, I dropped the load but twisted my knee tendons.  all three of these hit me, couldn’t walk or sit…pain was almost bearable lying flat.  Knew I couldn’t sit, meant no plane to England with family.

After much discussion, I got wife and family in cab to airport without me.  ; 5 minutes later I went to ER.    Lots of steroids, pain pills, shots, and 3 weeks  laying flat I can now stand, walk some, and sit briefly.  I don’t want anyone taking shots at my spine, so I’m doing the relax and suck up pain route.

Got my 'puter in 'stand-up' mode so I can type.  Hoping it goes away without permanent problem.

thanks for the good thoughts and concern.  Pain makes it tough to read much.  can't sit long either, so 'puter is on a book shelf 4" high, stand up so to speak.

Will make it to MYGAWDS, regardless of my condition...maybe need the vodka treatment!!!   with meds have had a 25 day no-tini period...ugh.
