Sure it is a Super Mag.

but seems not a decent rifle made of it.

And maybe it will be the new 5mm Remington?

It is a shame CZ or Ruger did not pick it up.
It is an out standing idea.
Everything I have ever read was not seller in accuracy but maybe competition would have fixed that.
But I do think it is history.

That review really didn't get decent accuracy.  Wondering what good a super fast rimfire is without 1/2" groups?

If you ever buy one of these The ghost of CB will haunt you...remembering his 5mm Remington.

I'm sure we all could only benefit from having that ghost problem......as long as dreams of shooting from the wrong side aren't involved.

I have read the Savage 17 was much worse for accuracy!

Those flying barrel nuts give terrible groupings!

Always check your hardware! The SS replacement rings are a wonder fix.

Still was odd that a Savage performed sub average....Fluke?

Thing about 17's is how often you hafta clean 'em.  Ten shots and they're fouled.  I bought a 20/17hmr from a pawn shop owner I know, just for the 20, bought a box of 17's to try it, and was appalled.  Bought the cleaning stuff to ream the copper out and zowie! 1/2" groups.  3 of them if they were 3-shot groups, only 2 if i shot 5 shot groups.  Then the fouling took over!  Sold it for more than I paid for it, and went on with my life.  Reloading 222 ammo is cheaper, anyway.

That may well have been the problem with the Savage figures. They are known for the tight tolerances and don't function well when dirtied.
