Nothing will keep you young and climbing hills easier than squats. You don't have to go heavy but using a free bar and going low is good for everything from your ankles to you shoulders.

Of course you have to be careful if you've been busted up or cut on.

Steely Eyes, I agree that exercise and doing "half-squats" is a good way to keep the knees working. However, if you are over the age of 50 and knees are arthritic, there is NO sense in agravating the situation because it just will cause more pain, unless you get a doc to take out all that arthritis in the first place (good luck on that happening trust me) and arthritis can be in a joint and not bother you at all but let some doc go probing around in there and all hell breaks loose let me tell you for a fact fellar's.

The best thing I found for the condition is to pop one of those little blue pills (ADVIL) for pain and that takes care of it most of the time, at least will let you be able to function without much pain and a whole lot cheaper on the bankaccount and not have to worry about aftermath of an operation by some highdollar bone doc.
